A Wedding Rehearsal Surprise
Sometimes you just never know what will happen while preparing for a wedding day.
Now that a certain show has aired, I can finally share this funny story!
Last October, I arrived at Annaberg Ruins on St. John to host Sarah and Greg’s Wedding Rehearsal the day before their big day. Upon arrival to this beautiful location chosen by the bride and groom I witnessed about 40 production crew wandering the property. Perplexed, I asked a National Park Staff Member what was going on and was politely told “that’s private information”. I did ask if holding the couple’s Rehearsal was allowed and this staff member told me that I was allowed.
Still perplexed, I approached the couple when they arrived and explained to them that while I was not really sure what was going on, I was assured that this huge crew was only scheduled to be on site on that day and NOT on their wedding day. We made the decision to hold their Rehearsal on another part of the property to be respectful of whatever was being filmed.
After the Rehearsal, Sarah, Greg and I did walk up to the main area of the venue so that they could choose their exact Ceremony location. Low and behold, the BIG production was the filming of the current season of ABC’s The Bachelor. Sarah was the one out of us that actually recognized Nick Viall, the man attempting to find love for the third time on reality television. Let’s just say, she was not his biggest fan! 🙂
While we walked the property, we could hear the dialogue between The Bachelor, his “date” (who we now know as Kristina). And when I say dialogue, what I mean is the lines that each were being told to say by the director.
We snuck a few pictures to remember the occasion…despite getting the evil eye from one of the production assistants.
Best part of this day was when Sarah looked at Greg while standing where they were to say their vows the next day and said “at least we know that our love is real and we aren’t being fed lines.”
Lesson for all of to learn from witnessing the Bachelor filming-real love usually is not found on Reality TV folks!
PS….keep an eye out for a blog post soon showcasing Sarah and Greg’s amazing wedding day!
